PR Visa spelling mistake...

Dear seniors,

I received my PR visa and CORP but we have a spelling mistake my son's first name "a missing letter".

I don’t know what should I do, should I contact the visa office and return the passport and CORP for correction? Is so how long it takes for them to rectify and return the PP’s?

What if I used to visas and CORP’s as they are now? Will we face a problem during landing and / or during issuing SIN, PR or medical cards or during school applications?

Please tell me about your experience, Thanks a lot a lot..

You can make your landing with the COPR. At the landing airport, after finish the customs counter (CBSA) formalities, you need to go to the Immigration area where new immigrants are handled. An officer will get your passports and COPRs. You can mention the spelling error with that officer, who will be able to correct it in their system.

If you send it back to visa office, you should have to wait for a long time to receive it back duly corrected. So, don't bother about the error now.

Wilson have answered you correctly.please proceed with your landing !The corrections will be made @ the point of entry by an immigration officer.sending the passport back to visa office mens you have to wait for months!!

I am with same problem. But just 1 letter change. In visa as well as COPR. I have sent the PP to VO. Can I go and request them in the embassy since my med r expiring in March

how long your paper r in the VO? what VO u r dealing with?

as you have already sent to the VO, you may visit the embassy early in the morning when it starts. Explain the problem at the reception desk and humbly request for a favor and consideration. Probably you could win!. The same day or in a couple of days. Try.

I think you have to send a cse to the CHC...it is best way to go ahead...I have seen somewhere...if the name , pp number , dob ...got error...you have to send them for correction...other mistakes are minor...I would suggest you to send an enquiry to the VO....

Thanks for your replies and advice.. here's what happened to me, so anyone faces that situation i think could do the same;
i went in person to the embassy with our passports and CPR forms and explained the issue to them and informed them that it's an urgent case because i need to travel within a month, they let me wait for 2 hours and half then they handed me the correct visas and forms.

i wish everyone the best of luck...

Thanks for the useful information. Even I have to travel before March 13th (my visa expires) So I shall try. But dont know with NDVO.

it worth trying because the correction processing time in canada takes 6 moths.. good Luck..
