Depends who wants that 'proof' and what for.

But I would have thought that is a good start, of course an in-date PR Card would be definitive proof. Other organisations (e.g. OHIP) will accept Canadian bank statements with up to date 'activity' on them, Canadian utility bills, etc.

We need it to get the PR Travel Doc.

I just found out that my lawyers never updated our address and the PR Card was sent to our old address. I'm partly panicking and partly livid, and I'm trying to understand if the new tenants got it. If they threw it out, what does that mean?

You would have to apply for a new PR card, nothing that cannot be fixed. For now, focus on the PR Travel doc. I am pretty sure that COPR and SIN would be enough to apply for the travel document.

OP is talking about a PR Travel document, which you can get when you are outside of Canada, are a PR and don't have the PR card yet or at the moment, for whatever reason.

By the way, don't you tell the CBSA officer when you land to what address they should send the PR card?

They didn't ask, I don't know if they assumed it would go to our lawyers because we have reps..? That's what I thought, it would be sent to the address on the COPR? The whole thing is a giant fuck up quite frankly and I am so done with this process. We're getting the application together but trying to understand if there's a chance the new tenants may have it...we hit processing time target yesterday so there's a chance...

I am so done too, but mine is not over :( I don't understand why they take so much time just to close an application, I am pretty sure my file hasn't been looked at in almost four weeks. It shouldn't be that hard to finish it, they just have to stamp the visa and issue the COPR now. I am too anxious to get my passport back. I'll be getting the soonest available flight to Canada, I am that desperate.

For once in my life I am PRAYING they didn't move quickly and sent the PR card according to processing time because that means there's a great chance the new tenants got it accidentally...you can never win it seems!
