PR TD immediately after landing?

Hi,

I had landed in Canada as a PR a couple of months ago, stayed for a few days and came back to USA to wrap up my affairs. I had given a friend's address where I was living where the PR card would be sent. However today I got an email saying they need new photos as old ones do not meet specifications. I already sent them new photos but now I'm worried this will delay my PR card arrival time.

I had plans to come there in the next couple of months and I am thinking of applying for a PR Travel Document (TD) so I can enter Canada in December. In their TD application they have asked for number of days stayed in Canada. I had stayed there for a few days but have been outside since almost two months. Is this something that will be counted against me if I send the TD application to the visa processing center?

Also, in the application they have asked for 2 proofs of PR. I have the CoPR, but what can be accepted as second one? PR visa (single entry which is now canceled)? SIN number printout?

Thanks

If you have been a PR less than 3 years, you get a PRTD by right.

Give your CoPR and write a cover letter explaining as you just became a PR that is all you have.

Are you a US citizen? If you are then you don't need a PRTD. You can get on the plane on the force of your U.S. passport and once in Canada enter as a PR with your CoPR.

If you are not a U.S. citizen but live close to the border, you can enter Canada with a car via land without a PRTD. All you need is your CoPR and passport.

Hi,

I'm not a US citizen (nor from, any visa exempt countries). I think I will apply for a PRTD anyway. If, for some reason, I don't get PRTD I will drive in (flights are cheaper and convenient directly into Canada).

Also, do you know if the PRTD is single entry or can they provide multiple entry PRTD if I request so? I do need to travel back and forth for a few weeks to make sure everything is set.

Also, can you comment on the 2 proofs of PR question I had written about in my original post.?

Just give your CoPR and tell them that is all you have. In your cover letter also request for a multi entry PRTD. No guarantees though.

There is no getting denied a PRTD when you are in residency obligation compliance. You enter Canada by right.

Hi! I am currently in Canada (FSW O, right now on work permit)and recently got my re medical and schedule A request (AOR June 2020). I am hoping to receive the COPR within a few weeks, However the tricky and unfortunate part is I booked my tickets to India which are non refundable for the month of May. My stay in India is only for two weeks. If I receive my COPR before my travel date and PR card will take its time, I am assuming PRTD will also not be issued within 2 weeks of me being in India. What can I do? Should I start of process of cancelling my tickets or wait? Anyone been in a similar situation??

If you have US visa, you can enter by land through usa (eg private vehicle). If not, either wait for the PRTD in India, or reschedule.

Depends, I have got PRTD myself 2 or 3 times, the first time was single entry & then it was multiple entry (within 1 year of visa issue date)
