Hi evryone, I am new to this forum.
Recently we applied for PR our son who is only 1.5 years old . He is currently living with us in Canada on visiting visa. We requested for the file to get processed in Canada as we all want stay together. Now 2days back we got mail saying that his file was sent to New Delhi for further processing. Will it be forwarded later to Canada or do we need to collect the passport in India? Please anyone with such situation let me know!!!!!

The passport will have to be sent to New Delhi and then collected and returned to Canada.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences & knowledge!

I have a few questions to ask & appreciate if someone could shed some light on these. Following is my situation:

Me and wife are both Permanent Residents since June 2011. We did our initial landing on 15th June 2011 & left Canada on 26th June 2011. Last year my wife was pregnant, however, we couldn't return to Canada due to some pregnancy complications. Hence, my daughter was born in India in September 2013. We managed to obtain a multiple entry visitor (V-1) visa for 2 years for her and returned back to Canada on 4th June 2014. Now I want to sponsor my daughter for her PR while we all are in Canada. My questions are:

1) Will it be an issue to sponsor my daughter since right now I am unemployed and hunting for a job?
2) What documents are required along with the forms for my daughter's sponsorship?
2) How long can my daughter stay at a stretch on the visitor's (V-1) visa? In case I need an extension, is it possible & is it easy to obtain the same?
3) I have read in various blogs that sponsoring a child is fairly straight forward and quick process since various checks are not required for the child. Is this the case?

I would really appreciate if someone could answer the above queries.

Thanks in advance

Hi ,
I feel its better to apply for PR once you are employed. As it makes things much simple.Regarding the stay its 6months and u should renew it after that.We are also in the same process.
