Hello,

I am a permanent residence and also a student taking OSAP and my future wife and I plan on getting married November this year. My fiancee is an international student that also lives and work here in Canada, and allowed to work with a study permit. We both worked full time all summer but now that school is resuming I won't be able to work with my course load and OSAP is my only income. My fiancee works and goes to school, I got my OSAP for this fall semester and I want to apply for permanent residency for her but it I'm not sure if it would affect my OSAP for next semester and is there another way for me to apply for her if taking OSAP and not working is an obstacle.

Your income/lack there of will not affect the application. I am also sponsoring my husband and I am currently not working. As long as there are no dependant children involved in the application, you don't have to provide proof of income. Good luck

Unfortunately that isn't true. Although there is no income requirement for spousal sponsorship you have to prove how you will support yourselves without government support. You can have parents provide a letter that they will provide you with financial support and proof of their income/savings, you can have parents/family provide a letter showing they will provide free accommodation, you can show your savings or your spouse's savings, etc. If your income seems to low or you are not working anticipate being asked for a plan on how you will support yourselves.
