PR sponsor his spouse

Hello Guys,

I will really appreciate if someone can provide me some info about spousal sponsorship. I am PR and want to sponsor my Girlfriend and we are planning to get married in Canada. Now next step is to apply her PR? How will she get her work permit? She is on visitor visa at the moment and residing in Canada.

Any help would be appreciated.

After you get married, if you`re gonna apply inland (you can check CIC`s website for information on spousal application) you can fill in an Open Work Permit application as well and then send them all together. Open Work Permits nowadays are issued within 4 months. while waiting for her PR she can start working in this way.

If you apply outland, then no open work permit. though, outland applications known to be resolved faster than inland.
