Hello friends,

I am currently student of Seneca college and will finish my course in four months but as I'll get one year work permit so I'll have to move to other province.

I am hearing different comments from everyone about PR rules in different provinces.

Can anyone suggest me the perfect location at present to move to get PR within my work permit time!!...Most of people suggest Saskatchwan but I've also heard that getting job in Alberta is more easy than anywhere.

Kindly suggest me.
Thank you

Hi,

You should do another course, and extend it to a 3 years PGWP. Honestly, 1 year can fall short, while trying to secure a PR. If you are planning to go to Saskatchewan... then as a student who studied outside Sask., you will need to work for 1 full year/ 1920 hours... before applying for nomination of SINP. On top, SINP nomination may take a long time to get approved, where droves of international students are rushing to secure a PR ( backlogs of previous applications), it will simply be impossible for you to get PR within 1 year. Unless you get a skilled professional job in your field, supported by an established and lager employer, who can file for LMO to extend your PGWP, till SINP nomination comes... chances of getting support from small time employer..and getting positive LMO report doing unskilled jobs and extending your PGWP are very less. You may pay placement agencies/agents to get you a job or help in getting positive LMO.. it's upto you.. Now, Alberta, although jobs are plenty, but to qualify for AINP, you will need to find a Skilled job in your field, and then work in that job for 6 months... it's possible to get PR, provided you find a skilled job in your field...which can be a challenge anywhere in Canada, for Internationale students passing out from non trade/ non practical job oriented college qualifications. if you are again, going to Manitoba.. where finding a skilled job is not needed, but provided if you find a full time job immediately, do it for 6 months... you may or may not succeed to get MPNP nomination within the remaining 6 months.

So, till you can immediately find something like a skilled approved job in Ontario (which makes you eligible to file for ON PNP nomination immediately) or find a skilled job in your field in Alberta... till then, trying to secure PR on a 1 year PGWP will be risky.

You should look forward to do another 2 sem/1acd. year/8 months certificate (it wil be even better if you can do some skilled trade qualification, higher chances of finding immediate skilled job..higher pay..even though skilled job not required in Sask., we never know when the rules might change!) in province like Sask (which may or may not give you 3 years PGWP, but 2 years PGWP will be assured)., where studying there will make you a student passing out from a Sask. based college and hence eligible to apply for SINP nomination, only after 6 months/960 hours, which you can even try to cover up legally by doing legal part time jobs for max 20 hours/week (provided you get a legal part time job immediately from 1st week..when classes start).. that will be 80 hours/month or 480 hours/ 6 months... and then, you will need to work only 480 hours more (or 3 months full time @ 40 hours/week) and at the end of 3 months... get ANY full time job offer, and then apply for SINP. That will be the safest and quickest way, in my opinion... to secure a PR, unless you don't find skilled professional job immediately after graduation.

Best of Luck.
