Hi Everyone,
I landed in Canada 2018 July 30th. And I finished 1097 days out of 4 years 10 months. I am planning to renew my PR and apply citizenship parallel. Is it possible to do it at a time.

Other question is
If I renew my pr and apply citizenship later do I need to stay another 1095 days to stay in Canada. Please confirm regarding this.

Thanks,
Sai.

Yes, you can apply for a new PR card and citizenship at the same time.

I'm not sure I understand your second question. To qualify for citizenship, you must have 1095 days of residency within the last 5 years. So it would depend on what you apply and if you still meet the requirements at that time.

That second question is ridiculous lol. You should take some time and read the citizenship eligibility requirement. IRCC has a residency calculator to check eligibility, go over there and help yourself a little bit.

183 days if I stay outside Canada in 5 years
PCC is required if you have stayed 183 days continuously in the preceding years (4 years I think). Key word is continuously.

I only lived in US for a couple months in the 4 year period but I still submitted the FBI background check since its easy to get. Since I've heard people being requested PCC even when it isn't required.

General rule of thumb for speedy processing is to submit all documents that you could think of in advance. Also provide a letter with explanations if you think something needs explaining. Otherwise they'll request more doc and it could possibly drag your process.
