Hi All
I applied for PR renewal in Jan 2020, called by the end of Feb 2020 and was told that the application had been approved and sent to the Hamilton Office.
Then when covid set in, I heard absolutely nothing from them.
I phoned multiple times and filled the webform, was getting the standard excuse of Covid.
I contacted my MP and she got an immediate response for CIC, saying that they need to interview me before handing the card.
Now coming to the 2nd anniversary of my application, I continued to get the covid excuse as a reason for the delay.
what other routes do I have? who can I complain to? I need to travel to Europe as I have an emergency.
I thought I could go the travel document route, but that requires that I have been in Canada for the past 5 years, which I have not, only 3.5 years.
Incidentally I have already applied for my citizenship as I qualify.

The PR travel document does not require that you have been in Canada for five years, just that you are in compliance with your residency obligation (which should be the case if you've applied for PR and citizenship).
