I had arrived in Canada in June 2009 and returned back to India in April-2010 with wife and two minor children.

I have returned to Canada with my wife in April 2013. We are likely to be completing 730 days obligation in 2014.

However my present employer in Canada may depute me outside Canada for some months before June 2014.

Can this outside period from Canada -can be considered for Residency obligation for me and my wife ( who will also accompany me)
when we apply for PR Card renewal.

If yes, what all documents I need to ask from my employer-which can be submitted during renewal time.

We also would like to know- can we apply our minor children ( who is also PR Card holder but will not be in Canada)renewal along with us in 2014?

thanks

Raj

Hi Raj,

I don't have a lot of expereience in the matter however I do have some good judgement. First of all, ask immigration about this matter before it's too late. second tell you boss about this issue (if immigration cannot solve it).

you might have some good answers to go with in your next post good luck

You should read the immigration manual on residency status determination, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op10-eng.pdf especially the parts about Canadian business and working outside Canada.

You can count days working outside Canada towards your residency requirements and so can your wife if she is accompanying you but they can be strict on the definition of Canadian business etc.

The children can also count their days of accompanying you because of your jobs towards their residency requirements. Just like you and your wife, if they have 730 days, you can apply to renew their PR cards.
