I'm currently residing in Canada, about to submit my PR renewal application after accumulating 750+ days of the RO.

I have a question regarding the submission of the identity document being the passport. As far as I can remember, it requires the photocopies of ALL pages of the current existing passport, but after referring to the CIC webpage for renewing a PR card recently, it seems that the documents requirements have changed or isn't stated clearly. (In requiring photocopied pages of the full passport)

One (1) main identity document

A photocopy of one of the following:

-your valid passport or travel document or
-the passport or travel document you had when you became a permanent resident (including the passport page that was stamped when you arrived in Canada and became a permanent resident) or
-the certificate of identity or travel document issued by the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada or a foreign country.

Note: The copy should show:
the document type and number;
issue and expiry date;
your name;
your photo; and
your date of birth

Looking through posts on the forums, I deduced that it should be safer to get a photocopy of ALL pages of my existing passport, but does that include the expired passport within 5 years from this date? Also, is it actually necessary to send in the entire photocopied passport or is the identification page just enough?

I hope I receive answers soon as I need to submit the application ASAP, thanks in advance!

Yes. You should include copy of ALL the pages of the passport. I had an expired passport myself and I included the copy of that as well (ALL Pages).
They can use it to cross check the dates you have mentioned in your application for times you were out of Canada to ascertain the RO.

I recently applied for my PR renewal and included copies of both the passports (existing and expired) ad my old passport had the Canadian VISA when I landed here.
Be on safer side and include all copies.

Also, ensure that any pages which are not in English/ French to be certified by notary public.
For me, I also included my COPR copy, PR Card copy, Notice of assessment copy for past year along with the application package.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply!

I have another question though, although it isn't stated that documents that prove my residency is required for the renewal, should I include my high school records to prove my residency and other documents that may explain my days spent outside Canada? For my case I had to return to my country to serve mandatory military service, during which my PR card expired.

I managed to return to Canada using a PRTD as a returning resident as they took too long to process my renewal, and now my 730 days of RO has finally been accumulated. I know it isn't necessary (not stated), but as much possible I'd like to avoid being cast under a secondary review which would hinder my ability to travel overseas. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.
