Can we renew PR with expired ID

Hi everyone
I'm going to apply for "Urgent PR card renewal" for my child but his passport is expired, can I use expired passport as an Main ID? In the application guide it says

One (1) main identity document
A photocopy of one of the following:

• your valid passport or travel document or
• the passport or travel document you had when you became a permanent resident (if applicable, include the passport page that was stamped when you arrived in Canada and became a permanent resident) or
• the certificate of identity or travel document issued by the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada or a foreign country.

Can I include the expired passport with PR visa stamp??
Note: My kid passport is alredy in process of renewal and will receive is 14 days

Yes, as that was the passport he had when he became a PR.
