PR renewal need advise

Hi,

My parents are residing outside of Canada. My mother is a Canadian citizen and my father is on PR.

His PR is about to expire and he has already sent his documents to CIC. My question is will there be an issue for his PR renewal. He is staying with my mother. I heard that for applying for renewal of PR, one has to stay in Canada and renew. He applied for PR renewal from outside of Canada, will it be a problem regarding that?

PR card renewals need to be submitted from within Canada and IRCC will not mail outside of Canada. Only need a valid PR card if intending to fly back to Canada or if not valid card a PRTD.

Assume you mean PR card is due to expire given PR status never expires and can only be renounced or revoked.

I mean his PR card has to be renewed as it was till Nov 2018. He intends to travel with my mother to Canada who already is a Canadian. He needs a new PR card. He also owns a house here and has provided the address. So not sure if it should be fine?
