Me and my husband are going to Canada this December. His PR Card is going to expire on March 2017. We will be staying there for 3 months. In that 3 months, we are going to process the renewal of his PR Card. My question is, if given that in the span of 3 months we are able to get a reply from CIC saying he is approved of the renewal can he leave Canada even without his renewed PR Card yet or does he have to wait until the card is released?

We are in the process of purchasing our tickets so any input or same experiences would do. Thank you.

Did he met PR renewal requirements? If not, there is a big chance it will go into the secondary review and it might take a long time.
Your question would be more suited to Permanent Residency Obligations forum.

Yes, he did meet the requirements for the renewal process. Going back to the question, is it possible for him to leave Canada when he already got the heads up that he is successful in renewing his PR?

Why take risk? Get the card and then leave.
