My wife and I are currently living in USA on non-immigrant visas. We applied for Canada PR and received our PR cards through Express Entry in May 2019. We are planning to move to Canada this year - 2021 in summer. Last year in 2020, we were blessed with a child who is a USA citizen. My questions are:

1. Can we move to Canada and then apply for our child's PR through sponsorship program?
2. If yes, can our child live with us on Visitor visa while we are wait for her PR process to complete or do I have to apply for some other visa for our child before we move to Canada?

1. Yes. That said, you could also apply now.

2. As a US citizen, your child does not need a visitor's visa. Usually admission would be for six months, you can then apply to extend the visit.

Keep in mind health care and other necessaries.

1. No - they can't. As PRs, they cannot sponsor their child while living outside of Canada.

Thank for your response! Is there a limit for how many times I can extend the stay for my US born child in Canada? I am asking this question because I think the PR process for my child sponsorship may take more than 2 years (based on processing times). I just want to avoid a situation where my child can no longer stay in Canada and PR for her sponsorship is still in process.

[Note my error above about starting process while abroad - you can only do once in Canada.]

I'm not aware of any limit, although up to IRCC at each extension. I doubt they would refuse to extend, though, for a child, as long as you are both in Canada and in compliance with residency obligation.

There are dependent child threads, I do not know about processing times for dependent children.

No limit on extensions. Processing time should be around 8 months (not 2 years).
