I have landed and became PR in Nov’15 and provided my friend’s address for the PR card. I returned to US after landing. In late January 2016, I got a letter from CIC to resend the pics, when I landed I had taken a pics from Shoppers and gave it to my friend to send it to CIC just in case. My friend promptly responded to the CIC’s letter, however I got another letter last week to resend the pics. I read in one of the threads in the forum that the Photo specification has changed recently.

1.Has the photo specifications been changed?

2. Can I send the pics per the specification from outside Canada (taken in USA)?

3 What’s the best place to get the pic in US - Washington DC area? (I contacted couple of CVS and walgreens, they said they only do US passport and they can’t make anything other than that)

4. By sending pics taken outside Canada, would the CIC reject my PR card application since I am not in Canada?

5 I have another thought to drive to Ontario using COPR over the weekend to get the pics and send it to CIC?

Please anyone else have any suggestions / experience sending the pics from US or outside Canada, are there any chances to deny the PR card for sending the pics outside Canada?

Hi Sumiysh,

I am also in a similar Position.

Completed my landing formalities in March 2016 and now in US , Gave my Friends canada address for PR Cards.

Riceved a letter to my Friend's canada address to submit new Photos as the Old photos not met the specifications.

How is your problem resolved ? Could you Please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Based on regulations, you are supposed to be in Canada when you apply for your PR card. So logically it doesn't make sense for someone who is resident in Canada to get his pictures taken out of Canada. It would indicate that you were not resident.

That's why your last option is the best.
