Hi, I came here for help on certain doubts that I have in regards to the OWP and the renewal of WP. I’ve been working in Canada as a care giver live-in for almost 2 years. My WP expires at the end of May, which means I’ll have to renew at least a month before that. But in March it will be 2 years since I got here. So my doubts are:

1.Do I need to renew my WP even though I will be applying for an OWP and PR in May?
2.What Does an OWP entitle me to?

You may want to call the call centre and verify but as far as I know, as long as you apply for your OWP before your WP expires, you are under implied status and can continue to work.

An OWP is open. When you get it, it allows you to take any job for any employer.
