LANDED..........
April 2016
Hi all,

We all, family of 4 landed as PR in April 27 and I stayed on to look for the job etc but my wife and 2 kids returned to India after 3 months.

My daughter returned to Canada in 2018 October ad started ber studies in school. She will complete her RO obligations this year in October.

I applied for Canadian citizenship for myself and my minor son in October last year and I got AOR but it is stuck due to COVId19.

My wife will not be able to complete her RO until April 2021( which is the expiry month for her PR )

She is in Canada now but I was wondering if she will lose her PR status as she wont be able to complete her 2 years. Is there a way she can get it back or if I and my son becomes citizens , we can perhaps sponsor her.

Hope I have explained the situation and someone will be able to help me.

Thanks

She should not leave Canada for 2 years and she’ll be back in compliance.

Just to add that apart from not leaving Canada if she is in the country now she should not try to renew her PR card for 2 plus years or until she is back in compliance with her residency obligation. PR status does not expire automatically so there is no pressure to renew a PR card until back in compliance and in fact some people live for years in the country without a valid PR card only needing a valid one should they travel outside of Canada
