Hi,

Let's say I get a job in Canada and get posted in the USA thru the company. I understand the PR obligations will be fulfilled if I'm working for a Canadian company abroad. Here are a few queries:

1) Does this mean all the time I stay abroad working for a canadian company will accounted towards my PR or is it just a fraction and I still have to live in Canada before applying for Citizanship?

2) Can I apply for Citizenship if I stay 3 yrs outside working for a Canadian company?

3) Will my enrite family be entitled for citizanship or each individual have to meet their PR obligation separately?

Thanks & Regards,

1. It will count for PR retention but NOT for citizenship.
2. If your family accompanies you, their time would not count towards citizenship, which requires physical presence.

Thank you for the response.

Does this mean one has to be physically present in Canada for 3 yrs before applying for Citizenship?
