Here is my story...

1. Landed in Canada in Oct,2005 and left for US after a week, received my PR card in November, 05.

2. Planned to return to Canada in 2007, got diagnosed with Blood Cancer of aggressive type. Underwent treatment througout 2007 and still being monitored periodically.

3. Plan to return back to Canada and settle down now, since my PR card is valid till Nov 2010 I am afraid I may not be able to Renew.

4. I have been working for Lowe's Home improvement corporate since last year, and since Lowe's is in Canada I am hoping that this would be very hepful.

Questions for anyone who can help are

1. Can I come in and settldown and apply for PR renewal after staying 2 years?

2. Can I use the Cancer treatment as a humanitarian ground?

3. Can I use the fact that I work for Lowe's corporate, would this be counted as working for canadian company?

Please advise

1. If you manage to get in and stay for 2 years, yes.
2. You can try.
3. Lowe's is an American company. As far as I know, you could only count it as a Canadian company if you got hired by the Canadian part of it and then got posted abroad to serve their needs. I'm pretty confident that you can't count it in your situation, but perhaps someone else knows more about this point.

Yeah, if you get in unnoticed, you can stay for 2 years and then apply for a new PR card. They are not allowed to go further back in time than the previous 5 years before you apply to renew.

If they do tell you at the border that they suspect you of not meeting the residency requirements and would like you to prove that you do, then you can appeal based on humane and compassionate because of your illness.
