Hi,
i landed in September 2008 and had been stayed in Toronto till Jan.2010,after that i went back to China for work and plan to go back in Oct.2010
just wondering is that okay to absent from Canada over six months and have no problem to re-enter.
Besides the 2/5 years requirement,i heard the six months rule had been canceled in 2005,just want to clarify it since this is not mentioned in CIC website...
Thanks!

There is no more 6 mont rule. You can stay outside for longer than 6 months, but less than 3 years outside Canada for every 5 years.

that 2 years in canada need to be continuous or these can be divided ?

730 days total, divided any way you want and any part of a day spent in Canada counts as a day spent in Canada.
