PR Landing Experience from 2022

Does anyone know if I have to declare my phone and laptop at customs when I land? Not sure if they are too small to declare and I don’t want to look stupid . I have a MacBook Pro and an iPhone and together they are probably worth 3-4k CAD.
I have travelled with them to other countries before and I have never declared them before but now that I am moving to Canada I don’t know if they would be treated differently. I read online that you can bring in items worth 800 CAD total without declaring and my items are worth more than that

When you land, you need to fill up to two forms for customs : one is to declare what you are bringing with you when you land (B4) and the other one is to declare anything that you may have shipped later at your address in Canada (B4S). Personally, I did declare the phones and the laptop.
Remember that you are not coming in as a tourist, but to settle permanently, so the rules vary a bit.

The address should be in the province that nominated you. You are also supposed to land in the province that nominated you.

Hi I am doing a soft landing this weekend. I would like to ask if past three months bank statements is enough to carry as POF? Or is it necessary to show an official letter from the bank? I requested for a letter from bank but looks like its getting delayed due to weather. Any help on this question is appreciated. Thanks in advance

You don't need a 3 month statement for PoF, the most recent month's statement should be fine.

Hi, anyone with experience landing while in transit. My in-laws are arriving soon to complete their pr process. Their port of entry will most likely be either Toronto (YYZ) or Montreal (Yul) before boarding another flight to their preferred city to settle (which is in Ontario). Normally, they do not need to collect the baggage as this will be taken care by the airline, so we always choose 2-3 hour transit. However, this time they will land and I am not sure how long should be. Is 4+ hours enough?

Do they have to clear security to land and check-in again or landing can be done without crossing security.

They are planning to settle in a city in Ontario (where we are located, and this is what mentioned in their PR application), will there be any extra document/s needed to land in Montreal airport. My MIL has provincial photo id (Ontario) with the our address written on it, is that enough to convivence immigration that they have no intention to settle in Quebec?

If there is anything that we have to consider, please do let me know. Many thanks in an advance.

Your family will have to complete the PR process first at the landing airport and then check-in for next flight. The amount of time it can take really depends on the schedule of the visa officers at the airport. But i fathom 4 hours to be quite good.

The airport staff can guide them on the queue for immigration; and then how or checkin for their upcoming domestic flight.
I am assuming it will be treated like a fresh boarding, and they could be redirected to domestic boarding gates. Just a guess.

About the baggage, it really differs from airline to airline. You will have to ask them at the time of boarding about the baggage collection at first landing airport or final destination. Even if they ask you to collect luggage and do internal transfer yourself, its not a big deal as immigration is always near to luggage belts.

For Montreal, connecting flight tickets can be shown but really no clue. I would suggest land at Toronto to avoid an extra layer of complication.
