I am a returning resident not meeting RO and I never have a PR Card.

Will I have trouble to replace my long expired BC driver license with only IMM1000?

Are you coming via USA by car? They may ask for residency proofs for renewal of driving license.

Yes, my brother and I have just returned for a month.

What can be considered as residency proof? We are still new here, I have Tenancy Agreement with 1 receipt for both deposit and first month rent. My brother has the initial agreement from Bell for a share data mobile plan. Utilities are included in the rental.
Does e-statement from local bank considered as a proof?

What if we do not have the require proof?

You can check with any Registry there. In Alberta they have asked for PR card for license renewal. It is better to have PR card.

Imm 1000 is acceptable for renewal at ICBC.

After applied for the renewal for a few months, I received a letter from ICBC saying that my application is on hold as they are still reviewing my case. However, my temporary license is still valid.

In the back of the letter, it says that "A person must be a legal resident of BC, as defined by specific legislation."

I start to wonder, am I a legal resident of BC simply because I am currently living in BC with my IMM1000?
