Hi,

An interesting case.

A FSW wishes to move to Quebec. He is presently in Ontrario. This is for his education purpose. Once the program is done he will be moving back to Ontario.

Will it have any impact later when he wants to apply for Citizenship.

Is it correct that he cannot get residency status in Quebec since he moved in under FSW category

Hi

It seems PR holder can work, live study in anywhere in Canada after obtaining PR card (even in Quebec)-See page 25 IOM booklet"Glimpse of Canada"

For Citizenship it has been stated as"physical Presence in Canada" then it should be O.K

? :-[

I will check on it.

Yes, in addition to this, since the purpose of this immigrants is to study and not job, so he can enter quebec with the admission letter of quebec college/university.
Had it been for the job purposes, there is a specific process for quebec, any skilled worker wishes to work & settle in quebec must hold CSQ (quebec selection certificate).

So you mean he can reside in Quebec and study. He is planning to move out once the program is completed.

I hope this wont be an issue and also wont create any problem when it comes to Citizenship later on

what happened later?

many have similiar situatuion and would like to know whether you faced any issue after moving to quebec for study?
