Hi Everyone,
Thanks for any advise you'll can give me.

I applied under CEC PR last Feb and after 17 months of holding my file they rejected me today which is very upsetting. I now have only 7 months remaining until my final work permit expires and I wont be able to renew it again since a person can work for only 4 years on work permit in Canada.
My new job position is in the FSW list which came out some months ago on skill shortage list. I just got a full 1 year experience on Aug 6 2014 which this new job and also have a full time permanent job offer letter.
Should I apply under FSW this time if yes then what is the current processing time for someone to receive his Medicals and then passport request for FSW?
I am in Canada still.

Any advise will be much appreciated.

Thanks everyone

of course you can. but you have to submit asap esp if your noc is hot. do you have your ielts and eca at hand? for the timeline, you can check the global spreadsheet. there's someone there who filed 1st wk of may and got a visa this aug. Of course, no ones knows of the future but if you can submit by mid september, then i think you should give it a shot.

good luck.

How much bands did you had in each module & what is you present NOC ?? If you studied in Canada after 12th grade then you do not need ECA report.

You don't need an ECA. Submit asap. just be sure you score 67 or more.

To be eligible for FSWP you need to score at least 67 points for your education, age, English and/or French skills, work experience, and adaptability.

I just checked mine .. i got 92.
But do u suggest I add my spouse as a dependant on this application as well.. Cos i added her onto my CEC application and that was 1 of the factors it took me 17 months to get a rejection...cos on cic it said if i add a dependent then processing times extent a lot.

You must declare her whether she's accompanying with you or not.

This will not lessen the processing time. Your wife will still need to undergo the medical, submit all the relevant police certificates and pass all of the criminality/security checks, even if she is not accompanying. You would only be creating more difficulties and expense for yourself, as you would then need to sponsor her once you are a PR.

Everyone saying he doesn't need an ECA, I disagree. From his post I got that he studied in Canada for one year, not that his degree is from Canada.

OP, if your highest degree (or the degree for which you want to obtain points) is from Canada, you don't need an ECA. But if your degree is from outside Canada you DO need an ECA even if you spent part of the time studying in Canada. Studying for at least a year in Canada also gives you adaptability points, but you still need the ECA.

Sorry to hear about your rejection (why?) and good luck with the new application. You can make it!

On your new application be sure to fix the reason for your rejection last time.
