Hi All - Request your help with inputs on eligibility for 50 points on ICT / Closed Work Permit holder PR processing LMIA category.

Background :
1 - ICT under LMIA exempt category (Specialized Knowledge).
2 - Skill-Level : 0 (0112).

Would this still qualify to secure 50 points under LMIA, as the job-role is LMIA exempt. Also, if any necessary documentation required for ICT.

Thank you...

Don’t believe that ICTs qualify for the 50 points.

You'll qualify for the 50 points once you've worked for a full year in Canada in that role.

Sorry thought you were trying to qualify with a job offer.
ICT is counted as a job offer once you've worked in Canada for a full year.

Hi @scylla Scylla,
Are you 100% sure about this. I am working on ICT on closed work permit and I have claimed 50 points; however, my company did not give me the job offer on company letter head. And, I just attached few documents like, my salary slips, Roles & Responsibility on Company Letter head, Promotion letters and Current active work permit which is valid upto 09/2022. Please advise?

I'm not sure I'm clear on your question.

To claim the 50 points, you must have worked for your employer in Canada on the ICT for at least one year. You also need a letter from your employer stating that they will continue to employ you in this role for at least one year after you become a PR. Some people have managed to claim the 50 points and get PR without having the letter. But it's a dice roll. Might work out and it might not. The one year of work in Canada for your employer is non-negotiable. You must have this or you can't claim the points.

So now I have been advised to create a EOI profile for PEI for worker outside Canada. I have a job offer and meet the rest of the requirements. But the profile asks for a work permit expiry date. How now? Yet I am creating profile so I can get ITA and nomination...which I then use for WP application!

Thanks @scylla
I have the letter but it is only valid up to March 2022 but it is not in company letter head. Since, CEC processing is being delayed also these days, I am worrying. My AOR is Dec 10, 2020.

The letter needs to specifically say that they will continue to employ you for at least a year after you become a PR. It shouldn't have a validity date on it.
