Hi , I had filed PR through immigration consultant on Monday and now i am having new job offer from good company with good pay. So would it be a good time to switch job or wait until i get the PR. The consultant suggested it might be risk, as if immigration office could call my employer for the verification and if something said wrong could impact PR. Any suggestions or other precautions should i take.

Did you apply inside or outside Canada?
If you are outside Canada you can work in every job you want. It's non of CIC's business if you decide to start a new job. If they ask for an updated background check later on than you have to notify them of course.
If your are inside Canada and need a work permit then you shouldn't start a new job without a valid work permit for only one reason - it's illegal ;)

Could you clarify what category you are applying under? Your previous posts have a mix of CEC and spousal sponsorship.

If you have an open work permit you should be able to change jobs no problem. It will have no effect on your PR application. If you have a work permit that is specific to an employer then there is a more complicated process which I am not familiar with.

that wasnt my question.

Step 1: PR filed
Step 2: New Job offer
Step 3: Consultant does not want me to accept job offer as saying the immigration officer can call the previoous company for verification and if they screwed it, my case will get in a dilemma..

You will get a better answer if you your question in the right section of the forum. This section is for Canadian citizens and PRs sponsoring their families. Post in the CEC section.

Ah, I see. In that case you may want to stay in the same job. I would think you should be able to send a letter to CIC telling them you have changed jobs so that they call the new company instead, but I know CIC isn't exactly known for actually writing down in their system what you send in a letter.
