I submitted my file for PR in march 2020 and it has been over 36 months now still waiting for CIC to complete my application.
I have lost the job i was sponsored thru to get my PR. My work permit will expire soon as well in may 2023.
last I heard from cic was “We sent you correspondence on March 2, 2023. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.”
They asked for a few forms which I submitted the very next day and now I haven’t heard anything since. PLEASE HELP.

Silly question if you lost your job that was used to sponsor your PR that would make you ineligible.

The processing time varies by stream not sure what your stream is. My suggestion is that you reach a MP and ask them whats happening. if you already tried with MP. Check with a immigration lawyer to see if you can file a writ of mandamus which forces ircc to make a decision.

but since you got a correspondence on march 2 2023 that mean they are working on it.

Thanks @vkamath I do have the job just that company got sold to another person and the new owners don’t want to support PR program yet.
Do you know how long would it take them to reply on that correspondence since it’s already been over a month now.

Wrong. You don't lose your eligibility once you lose your job, you lose your eligibility once you lose a NOMINATION. Also, it would be inhumane to delay an applicant's PR file and then punish them for losing their job when it is IRCC who has screwed up its processing time. OP would have a claim against IRCC on the basis of excessive processing time.

So you didn't lose your job? Be clear in your posts. If you didn't lose your job you don't need to worry. They'll generally ask for pay stubs and T4. If your new employer cannot so much as a courtesy give you a reference letter, I would submit a letter of explanation. But try to think of an alternative, like asking someone else at the company who can sign off on a reference letter and has the authority.

Thanks @moscatojuices. They haven’t asked for any of my T4 and paystub in the correspondence letter they asked me 2 other forms about my history in country and my family names.
which like I indicated previously I replied them back with very next day. I checked with my new employer they are willing to provide me with reference letter stating i am working for them if it helps me.

@moscatojuices
1. Application received on march 2020
2. correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on March, 2020.
3. started processing your application on March, 2020.
4. sent medical instructions and received on January, 2021.
5. We sent you correspondence on March 2, 2023.
You'll be fine, they've asked for trivial background information. I expect that you will receive a pre-arrival letter (PAL) in a few days, and then approval of your application in the next 1-2 months.

Thanks a lot for replying. I hope it comes true in next few days that would really be a sigh of relief for me.

I got a letter back from IRCC saying ”Thank you for your submissions, we have received your schedule A, additional family information, and supplementary travel information and your application is in queue for processing.”
I still haven’t received PAL and when i checked on call with them they said security verifications still haven’t started on my profile. In addition they said they are not sure how much more time they will need to make a decision on my file. It has already been over 36 months.

IRCC stuffed up on your file but with this response you can be assured they'll be looking at it and making a decision soon. The security will be done quickly.
