I live in Canada and My PR will expire in Oct 2022, I gave my citizenship exam in January 2022 and heard nothing back from the IRCC. Should I be applying or my PR renewal now itself ? Or will my citizenship be processed prior to that ?

The posted processing time is 27 months for Citizenship, so you probably should renew your PR card.

I applied for citizenship in feb 2020, so by oct 2022, it would be just about 27 months...
