Hi guys,
I applied for citizenship and passed the test but still waiting for the ceremony. My pr expires in one week, should I renew it? The problem is that I am afraid that the ceremony letter delays for few months and I might need to travel abroad. Any suggestions for that that situation?

PR does not expire. Your PR card may but that just means you can’t get back to Canada if you leave (or a commercial mode of transport such as a plane).

If you have plans to travel, you will want to renew it. Some offices only take 2-4 weeks, others take 2-3 months. Which office are you? Could always phone IRCC and see if you get a really kind agent (most are actually really nice and helpful).

1. PR cards are not processed in local offices. They are all processed in Sydney Nova Scotia. Some are sent to local offices for pick up.
