I am outside Canada and my PR expired in May 2011. Can I get it renewed from Outside canada? I am currently in Pakistan.

Also I am in doubt if I have met my Residency requirements because I became the PR in 2006.

I lived in Canada for 50 days and then leave canada for 2 years.

Came back in 2008 and lived for 1 year 5 months and then leave Canada. My PR expired while I am out of Canada.

I haven't obviously met 730 days requirement but I was out of Canada because I was with my Canadian Citizen Husband who was doing business in Pakistan.

I read that if any1 is out of Canada with their Canadian citizen spouse that time will count in his/her residency requirement.

Plz reply ASAP as my husband is now moving permanently to Canada and I want to accompany him.

Plz help.

You are good. Apply for a travel document at the embassy in Pakistan. They will give you credit for days you accompanied your Canadian Citizen husband. When you get back into Canada you then apply to renew your PR Card.

Thanks for your quick reply. Plz note that my husband was not working for any Canadian company, he was doing his own business... actually trying to sell/construct some family properties so that we could gather some money to move to Canadan.... I'll still get the credit for days I accompanied him, right?

It doesn't matter why he was out of the country. As long as he's a Canadian citizen and you were with him, the days you spent with him outside of the country can be counted towards your PR residency obligation. So you have nothing to worry about. :D
