Need some advice in regard to my situation and I'll make it as concise as possible.
I got a letter from CIC this week detailing on what I need to do to get the CoPR, so I'm due to send in my passport. However , on the letter it is stated:
Your PR will expire after one year from the date of your medical examination or earlier if your passport is due to expire.
The issue with this is we did our medical examination back in May 17, and that application got rejected (Jun 17) due to missing documentation. We subsequently got invited again 3 months later and used the same medical examination result for the application. In Dec 17 we were requested to undertake additional medical examination for my wife's lung, due to Christmas and issues with the medical centres, the results were not submitted until around Jan 18. We have received no news since until recently got the instruction letter about CoPR, which is in May 18. My question is if the PR expire one year from date of the medical examination (May17), that means our PR is expired before I can even get the CoPR and land? Is this correct or my interpretation is wrong? If it's actually th case, what can I do to get an extension on the landing date?
Thanks in advanced
