How soon did you all apply/update SIN after receiving your eCOPR?

I went to Service Canada just two hours after getting mine.
The officer told me that my details likely wouldn’t have updated in their system yet, and if they tried processing it now, I could get flagged for 6–10 weeks.

Just wondering—how much longer should I wait before going back to update my SIN?

That just sounds like someone not wanting to do their job. We got our SIN’s updated the very next day that we received our COPR’s and there was no such issue. Most people do it asap since you need to update the new SIN with your workplace and bank too.

Hi guys,

Has anyone seen any PRcard updates? It's unbelievable, after waiting for so long for ecopr we have to go through this torment again

QQ.. do we need to update new sin number with CRA account after getting PR ??
You need to create a new MyAccount using your tax return for 2024 and its NOA (Notice of Assessement).
It won't be different from how you've originally set it up, really.

I've made a mistake of asking the agent to reset my account before I could file. Then I have filed and got a notification from MyAccount that was no longer active about the NOA after two days or so.

Fortunately at this early stage and with electronic filing, line 15000 will be the same in your NOA as it will be on your T1, so you actually do have enough information to set up a new MyAccount.

If NETFILE fails for you, try WealthSimple Tax, that worked for me when TurboTax did not. Worst case you can file on paper but the NOA wait then will be some 6-7 months during which you cannot set up a new MyAccount.

I was looking at last year's thread, and some people were saying that they never received any updates about the PR card (no GU1 and GU2), and eventually received the PR card by mail. (It might be just a coincidence, but that happened in April) I know it sounds crazy, but who knows...
