Hi, I will be traveling soon to Canada (on permanent resident visa) for a short period to collect PR Card for my self and family. I want to send back my wife and daughter after a short stay in Canada(May be week or 10 days). I myself plan to stay as long as I receive the PR card for myself and family.
Is it legally o.k to send my wife and daughter without PR Card?
Will it create any problem regarding provision of my family's PR Cards?

To receive the PR Card you must land at ythe airport with your visa and the paperwork you were given by the Embassy. And is at the airport where you will confirm the address where the PR Cards will be sent (inside Canada, of course)

BUT if you are the principant applicant, then you must come first. Aftye you've arrived, the rest of the family can land with their paperwork and visa and they will receive their PR Card afterwards

Hi again. thank you for your comment. But I think I have to clarify further.
We all will arrive in Canada together. But I plan to send my wife and baby back. I am the principle applicant and I will stay in Canada until I receive all PR Cards( for myself, my wife and my daughter)

Should be no problem. But sometimes there are problems with photographs and sometimes random verifications of the photo or something. So any member can be asked to reappear with the photograph to local CIC office in your province in Canada. If your family goes back and the retake things happen to them, they may come later to submit the photo. Otherwise its totally legal to go out of country next day of landing.

Hi:

I wish I had read your post before starting my own.

Is it automatic, then, that the PR card is mailed to you after you first land? Form IMM 5445 (which explains how to apply for a PR card), says that the PR card applicant must pick up the card in person. But IMM 5445 may be written only for those renewing their PR cards, not for first-timers.

For first timers, the IO will confirm with you the address for the PR card to be sent (compare with the one in your COPR). If you are not ready, you can give the address later.
