LANDED..........
28.11.2013 by the grace of Allah SWT
I landed with my family on Nov28 and left Canada after a short stay. My PR cards which were handed over to Canada Post on Jan 23 after processing (as per CIC representative) are still undelivered. What options does one have now ! If anyone has come across such a situation, pls share, Thanks

Anyone pls comment, ..should such a mail be considered lost ! I have read somewhere that if any letter is undelivered due to any reason, Canada Post returns it back to the sender, is it true !

If you left Canada, where did you ask to have your cards mailed to? If it was an address outside of Canada, then you most certainly will NOT be receiving them any time soon.

And if you have any mail forwarding setup at the (canadian) address you gave to CIC on landing, it will not be forwarded by Canada Post. It will be returned to sender

keesio, i have given my friend's address and he is supposed to courier me once he receives, I am worried cuz my cards are already processed and given to Canada Post and now why Canada Post is taking such a long a time to deliver a local mail ! Please do share if someone has experienced such a delay ! Can someone share if PR cards come via ordinary mail or registered mail !
Aluura71, as i said, i have given my friend's address in Canada.

Something is wrong then. Your friend should have received it by now. Did you confirm they had the correct address when you called the CIC rep?

The cards come via ordinary mail.

yes keeso, address is correct, but a senior from this forum told me that if CiC is telling that they handed over the cards to Canada Post on Jan 23, does not necessarily mean that Canada Post would have dispatched them the same day, sometimes they are overloaded with bulk of mail and may take few days before dispatching, but in my case it's quite '" a few days " now :(

When your friend receives the PR Card, are you going to get him to mail it out to you?
Can you not apply for a PRTD from the country you are in?

Let me expedite your statement first - My PR cards which were handed over to Canada Post on Jan 23 after processing (as per CIC representative)

Did you get this confirmation over phone from CIC?

This means that CIC had sent your PR cards to your friends address by ordinary mail. Check with your friend, he must have received it by now, there's no link to Canada Post unless your friends mail box or address returned it to Canada Post, which is unlikely.

NN74, yes I got this info from CIC over the phone, I am also in touch with my friend on daily basis, address is correct as all my other docs have arrived on the same address, CIC rep also got the address confirmed from me, it's just the Canada Post with which they are stuck so far which is also quite surprising :(
I have heard that undelivered post is returned back to the sender, perhaps anticipating the same CIC asked me to call them back again if I don't receive by Mar7. I wonder where would they have gone even if they are not received back by CIC till Mar 7 :( not less than a mystery !
@abduls16 - I can go for TD but I am keeping it as a last resort, and also not quite clear how cumbersome is obtaining a TD either !

Immediately after they deliver the cards the status changes from "DECISION MADE" to "APPROVED" and finally after mailing them goes to "COMPLETE".

Does your ecas show that your request for PR cards "COMPLETE". Do not rely on what the officer is telling you on the phone.

Feb2012, my ecas doesn't show any separate window for PR card processing timelines. My ecase only shows "complete" for my immigration process and last line says that I landed on xxx date and became a permanent resident. However the only change I noticed during the processing of my PR cards was that my mailing address got updated and now my Canada address is reflected on top corners of the window. Please do let me know if I can check status of my PR cards somehow !
Finding it hard not to believe the info shared by CIC representative on the phone !

Hasni,
I am not a specialist and therefore I am confused like you.

Your eCAS status "COMPLETE" is referring to your immigration process or PR Card application after landing?.

I believe those two should have different eCAS status.
When I access my eCAS I see two different status (One for Citizenship which is in process and the other for PR Card renewal which I have received last week and it shows COMPLETE).

yes you are right, there should be seperate ecas status for PR card, but it does not appear in my case:(

There's no separate ecas status if your PR card is being issued for the first time. Only for renewals. That's why you can't see anything.
