Dear All

I landed on 12 May, and now its August 22 so more than 3 months, still no request for new photo or PR card.

Is there a number or email from within and from outside canada, where status of the PR card for new landed immigrant can be checked ?

It says 45 days, but some people said can take 3 months, but now its even longer. . .

What about the case specific enquiry in the below shown link ? is it ok to use that even if you are currently not in canada and abroad for business trip ?

https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?_ga=1.131359180.2101252833.1434623892

Thanks All

Can anyone else on my behalf dial on this number in canada and enquire ?

No one can contact CIC on your behalf unless you provide signed authorization for that person.

My husband came to Canada in April-his PR card never arrived. After 100 days of waiting we download signed authorization form and I started calling CIC. I was told that there is no comments on his file, so clerk filed a request to processing office to clarify why the card has never arrived.

After couple of weeks we got a letter-request from CIC for two new photos. Photos were sent by courier and I called again to ask when my husband should expect his PR card.

I was told that processing time in our case now is not an average time of 49 days (processing time for new PR cards). They have a high volume of cases and time varies from case to case. So, it is not clear if it will be three months or a year. The only what she could advise is just wait.

I need expert advice from Leon, Stella etc. I have been waiting about 4 months for my PR card and was given above number for contact to ask about status.

Currently I am out of canada on a business trip. Is it ok for me to call this number and ask about my status, does my current absence from canada make any difference ?

Thanks

Yes, you can call the number. You don't need to mention that you're out of Canada. Simply state why your calling - you landed 4 months ago and still haven't received your card or any communication concerning it. In fact, the agent won't even know your outside Canada.

I suspect, you need to retake your photos. For some reason, this is only brought to your attention after you ask for a status update, following the delay. I didn't receive my son's card until early this month, and this was after I called and asked... The agent logged an inquiry ticket, after a few days, I received email asking for new photos. 2 weeks later he's card was delivered. All this happened while we were outside Canada.

So call the number, and simply ask for an update. Be sure to state your date of landing.

Good luck

I called the 613 number from outside canada, but the agent said u cannot use this number for this information, the only option is to dial the 888 number from within canada

Is there any other number that i can call from outside canada and get the information ?

If my uncle calls the canadian number can he give the UCI and other id number and enquire ?

Thanks

That's odd! I used the number thrice, without a problem. I hope you didn't disclose that you were outside the country?
Anyway, your uncle should be get that information, but you must include him on your file as a representative, first. If he calls without authorization as representative, he will have to impersonate you, which is illegal.

Can't your uncle make a three way call? First he put you on hold and then follow the steps outlined in the link below?

Hi

I used the cic website link where you can raise an enquiry if your case has taken longer than normal processing time.

Within 10 days i received an email from them saying that they need an updated current home/mailing address and upon receiving that information they would mail the cards.

I had already given them my uncles canadian address when i landed in all the forms.

Should i simply send them that uncles address again, even though currently I am out of canada on a business trip and not physically present there ?

Or can they check if im physically present there and wish to ensure my presence before they mail the cards and may question as to why I gave that address ?

Is there any problem here ?

Thanks

They can certainly check if are in Canada at the moment...

Why don't you or your uncle make a three way phone to ask CIC some of your concerns?

Hello guys,

My wife is the principal applicant, we came together for the landing in the last week of June, she returned back home with our daughter while i stay back. Our PR cards have not yet arrived, can I call CIC on the number given above to check for update or she has to be the one to call?

Thanks
