PR Card Solemn Declaration Processing Time

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know if the PR Card processing time mentioned on the CIC website is the same for the Solemn Declaration as well? It currently shows 124 days which is about 4 months - My PR Card application was approved and it had said that the card was mailed out to me on the 5th of October 2020. I did not receive the card within the 6 weeks so I sent in a Solemn Declaration in December 2020. Canada Post Tracking showed that it was received by the PR Card Processing Center in Nova Scotia on December 30, 2020. During this time I also had a change of address and updated that on my profile before sending the Solemn Declaration. On the Solemn Declaration, I put down the new address. I also set up mail forwarding through Canada Post just in case my old card arrived.

I waited for another 6 weeks after the Solemn Declaration but there were no updates and no signs of the PR card in the mail. I contacted IRCC through their web form earlier this month. They mentioned that my Solemn Declaration wasn't in the system yet and that it would be processed based on reception.

Yesterday, I noticed that my PR Card Application on my account changed from the "Approved" status to "Submitted". When I went further into the application status, it says that the application is now in progress instead of approved and the previous message saying that the card was mailed to me back in October has also been removed. Would this mean that the Solemn Declaration is now being processed? It would make sense with the timeline of 124 days if they started processing it right now (exactly 4 months since December 30, 2020). Has anyone had a similar experience like this with the Solemn Declaration?

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've no idea on the main question but just FYI that mail forwarding does not forward all types of mail. It doesn't redirect most things from the government. If you go into a post office and ask, they'll tell you specifically the sources of mail that won't be redirected.

A friend learned this the hard way when moving out of the province to be with family during covid, luckily I was checking the mailbox for them and was able to manually send on some critical items like property tax bill etc. When I asked at the post office they said government mail doesn't get redirected.

Damn that's unfortunate. They mention that they won't forward packages and stuff but they don't specifically mention government mail. I guess I might have to just reapply once my original PR card application hits 6 months. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes I did end up getting my PR Card after about a week from making this post. Was a bit occupied with work so I wasn't able to reply sooner. So a few days after I posted this, my status changed back to "Approved" and I got two new messages under my application. One stated that my new PR card had been shipped to my new address and the other said that my old card that was lost was basically invalid. Two weeks later, around the second or third week of April I found my card in the mail. So I think my hunch was correct. It did take about 120 days (4 months) for them to process the Solemn Declaration. Hope that helps!

Hey guys, also never received my card. Anyone received it in the mail who sent in March 2021 ?
My timeline:
March 12 - Sent Solemn Declaration to PR Card Processing Centre by mail ( Sydney, NS)
March 18 - Canada post , confirmed that it is delivered.
It has been more than 75 days which exceeds processing time.
Please let me know if anyone has any updates.
