Hello Guys,
I just bought my flight ticket to travel outside Canada for 2014 Christmas / New year holiday come December 2014. But my PR will expire by November 2014. And even if I submit my Citizenship Application now, I guess it will not be completed and Citizenship confirm before then. How long does PR renewal take?
When should I possibly submit my renewal application considering I'll need it to travel by December 2014?
If renewed now, will the renew date be the expiring date of the old expired PR Card?
Thanks for helping.

1. You can apply 6 months in advance of the expiry of your PR card.
2. 117 days presently.

If your potential citizenship application is routine and your Local Office is in the GTA especially Mississauga but possibly also Scarborough, Windsor or Kitchener you could get your application completed to oath just in time for your flight. These Ontario Local CIC Offices have multiple 6 month completed applicants which is great for them but is nothing short of a travesty by CIC for all the other Local Offices in the rest of Canada (Prairies, BC, Atlantic, Most of Quebec) that have routine 2011/2012 applicants still waiting for tests.
