I have got a digital photo (soft copy) + they havep printed the details date foto photo captured their address but it is not back.. it is just like a photo print (in the lower right corner they have added smaller version of my photo as well). Will it work if I write my name and dob and scan and upload as back of the photo?

Hi all,

I applied online to renew my PR card today and a few hours later I tried to link my application with my IRCC account to be able to see updates. I put all the info in and the system said that it found an application Matching the info I used. When I linked it, it was actually the automatic application for PR card that I’ve got when I became a permanent resident a few yeas ago. I’ve never linked the original one so I figured that’s why it showed up as existing unlinked application?

how long does it normally take to be able to link PR card application with the IRCC account?

Did anyone have a similar experience ?

I have Submitted my Wife's PR Card renewal online on 2nd March 2024, the application status in portal still shows submitted. I sent a webform query and got the application number but i am unable to link it to GCKEY Portal nor i can track in Application Status check portal.
Does this mean that the processing hasnt yet started? My wifes PR expiry is on end of July 2024. Its been more than 2 months now and i am bit worried as to why its taking so long to process and havent been able to get proper answers through web form as well.
Is anyone else who has submitted during this timeline and waiting for PR card? Is there any other way to expadite the process?

Final decision - April 19, 2024:Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

it is strange that final decision shows this. application submitted on Feb but so far only this.

I submit my card replacement on March 05, no update so far, so I just raise a webform for urgent process, because I have career-related travel. Right now it's total 58 days passed.

Did the webform say that you‘re going to get some sort of confirmation? If not, I would give IRCC a call and ask.

Out of curiosity, how many pieces of ID did you submit?

So here’s an update..not that you asked. But wanting to post this in case someone has been through the same thing, or experiencing the same thing.

We never got confirmation of a withdrawal or anything. Then last night we got the same online application we tried to withdrawal returned due to missing documents. So I added everything we had missed and re submitted. We ended up calling IRCC today and spoke to someone. They can’t see the withdrawal and think maybe it’s floating around somewhere, because they started processing today saying the application is complete and there are no signs of a withdrawal.

Side Note: when I sent in the withdrawal I couldn’t submit the application number because we didn’t have it and still don’t have it, so I inputed UCI instead (it gave me the option). So maybe that’s why it hasn’t shown up?

Similar case for me.
Applied on 16-Mar for self, wife and kid.

Received kid's PR card in 3rd week, wife's card in 4th week. Nothing for me yet. Unable to link to GC key.

Hello all,

Would like to share my timelines for PR card renewal.

Submitted online application: 12th May 2024
Received renewed PR card: 23th May 2024
Portal still shows the application status as: submitted
Based in: Montreal

When I checked the application through the 'inspect' method, the application was updated on 14th May with status marked as completed (id 20). However, in the rejectionReasons -> rejectionDetails section it is mentioned that "the back of the photo is of poor quality/unclear"...which I am still not sure why ... as it has been scanned at high resolution and very clear.

Hi , Want to share personal experience , never ever apply for Urgent Application on PR Card Renewal. It moves your application out out automated system for officer review and approval which cause additional and unending delay. The normal online process is always preferable and suggested.

we ask MP's help 2 weeks ago and got email last week from IRCC asking us for in person interview this week, and we got PR card today.
