Hi

I came to know from a Consultant that for Permanent Residents who have been staying abroad with a Canadian Citizen they either renew the PR Card or give a PRTD (which is a Multiple Entry Visa valid for 5 years).

I want to know is there a PRTD (which is a multiple entry visa valid for 5 years). As far as I know the PRTD is given for the person who has no valid PR Card to return to Canada and apply for the PR Card and this PRTD is valid only for one entry to Canada.

Is there another class of PRTD (which is a multiple entry visa valid for 5 years).

Please advise.
Thank you.

PRTD is for one entry only. You need to enter Canada and apply for PR card renewal. Now processing time is 80 days and you need to provide Canada address for card delivery.

There is no such thing as a multiple entry PRTD. As ttrajan said - one time entry only. And no - there is no class of PRTD that is good for 5 years.

I'm not sure your consultant knows what he is doing if he told you PRTDs were multiple entry and good for 5 years. You might want to find a new consultant who understands the rules...
