Hello,

I am preparing for PR card renewal. Per application instruction relaed to tax document says;

4.Additional documents of proof of residence in Canada in the past five (5) years

•Your most recent INCOME TAX ASSESSMENT issued by the Canada Revenue Agency within the past two (2) years. Note: You can view (and print) your tax return, as well as other personal tax information using the CRA’s My Account online service. To register or login, visit My Account.

and

A copy of one of the following:
•Other Notices of Assessment issued by Canada Revenue Agency within the past five (5) years

my question is;
1) is INCOME TAX ASSESSMENT as above different NOA(Notice of Assessment) ? if so, what difference?
are they are exactly the same document?

2) how can we obtain a copy of INCOME TAX ASSESSMENT? there is no name like that in CRA MY ACCOUNT web site.

3) regarding NOA, when I log in CRA web site, there are menu,'tax return'. under it, ''View returns and Notices of Assessment and Reassessment'
under tab,'status of return, I can see 'Assessed' for whole years(2007-2015) of my tax report
under tab, 'Notice of Assessment or Reassessment' I can see and print out JUST 2015 NOA and 2014 NOA.

Pls advise where in CRA web site to print out NOA for past 5 years.

4) Does CIC accept print-out version of documents?

5) Can I request for a hard copy of NOA FOR 5 YEARS if I ask an agent in CRC center for it?. I know that
I can get 2 years of NOA per following automatic answering instruction in call center. but I need 5 years of NOA

your answer to each question above would be very helpful.

thanks in advance

Bank statements Driving licence and rental contract are proof of address

All benefits from governments and your income from all sources are shown in Notice of assessment.

Each year when you file a tax that time accountants are giving one income assessment which they are sending to CRA on your behalf then you are getting tax return and notice of assessment

For PR renewal CIC accept hard copy only

You can sent them T4 or Notice of assessment or option C any one from these 3 should be Okay.

You can call CRA for option C for last five years it is free and with in 2 weeks they will send you statements.

I called CRA and requested for a hard copy of NOA for past 5 years.
CRA person asked me some questions (date of birth, address, spouse's name,,etc)
He said that NOA would reach my hands within 7-10 days

hope it helps.

still don't know If INCOME TAX ASSESEMENT(needed as additonal document for PR card renewal) is the same as NOA or not.
if they are the same document, I can send CIC NOA for past 5 years.
if different, where can I get INCOME TAX ASSESMENT? I can print out Option C printout(proof of income) in CRA web site.
Can option C printout be accepted by CIC as INCOME TAX ASSESMENT.

Pls advise.

I have a quick question and hope this is the right place to ask. I am trying to renew my PR card, and since I did not work here, nor did I attend a school etc here I did not file taxes for the 2 years since I became a resident because I wasn't required to and i did not realize i needed to file to renew my PR card. I will have a current tax Notice of Assessment for 2015 taxes so I am ok there. My question though, is I need proof of residency, and i see it says that I can submit one of the following: other notices of assessments issued by CRA within the past 5 years OR transcripts from a school. I can only submit 1 notice of assessment because thats all i have so will that be ok OR do I need to provide 5 years worth? My interpretation of the wording is that I only need to submit 1. I have called the CIC and cannot get to speak to a live person and can't get any answers otherwise. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
