To fulfill, RO you need 730 days in a 5 yr period immediately preceding assessment. Not from the day you became a PR.

Can you also please look at my main query I posted separately which has not been replied to yet;

Landed as PR oct 2011. Got my PR card in april 2012 . It expires april 2017.
I will complete 2 years of residency in May 2017.
( break up= 4 months continuous in 2014 , 20 months continuous sept 2015 to may 2017)

I will apply for renewal of card after I complete 2 years in May.

But what I gather is that my case will definitely go to secondary review and take several months or a year.

My questions;

1. Will it be better if I apply for renewal in Sept 2017 when I complete 2 continuous years rather than May 2017 when I will have to explain huge gap in my 2 stays in Canada.

2. I wish to go back to my native India for a property deal. If I go right after I apply for renewal, will I be able to
return via land border without a valid PR card.(I have a US visitor visa.)

I am not banking on PR travel document from Canadian consulate in India as I have read that it may be refused .

I wanted to share my experience since this forum has guided me a lot. Became PR on 25th july 2015.
( PR card was From 25th July 2012 to 26th september 2017)

Application sent 25th August 2017.
Application received 31st august 2017.
Sent correspondence acknowledging the receipt on 6th november 2017.
Started processing the application 6th November 2017.
Received a letter in the mail regarding residence assement as per canadian immigration act at the time of distribution of cards on 12th December 2017.( at canadian address) which said the appointment day as january 15 th 2018.
( since i was in u.s at that time cuz i work in u.s) Applied for a travel document in New York on 14th december 2017 for urgent processing. Received Travel document in the mail on 22nd december 2017. Went to the address they provided me on the letter and was thinking that they were going to discuss residency obligations but actually they just checked my ID’s like health card, driver’s licence, passport and marriage certificate and spouse’s passport and handed me my PR card ( which says the expiration date as 6 th november 2022).
The status changed to complete and says that the card picked up. Came back to U.s and happy that i can accompany my wife to canada for her family visits for another 5 yrs.

Actual days spent in canada in past 5 yrs were 55
Days spent with canadian spouse outside canada 710 ( counted from 2015 June onwards after my wife became canadian citizen).
Hope that will help folks who are in similar situation.
