Oh is that so ? I thought then you might need some prtd document and ecopr is not valid for travel. Is there somewhere I can cross check the information that if I’m officially a PR (CoPR doc in hand), you don't actually need your PR card to return to Canada
I also have my study permit valid until 2023 on my passport though
During the covid-related travel restrictions - where you had to be a citizen or PR to be allowed in to Canada, an eCoPR was not valid to board commercial flight, train or bus bound for Canada. If however, you merely showed up to a border crossing armed with a valid passport and your eCoPR, the CBSA would know you're a PR - the actual card is not required at a border crossing to prove PR status.
As the covid related travel restrictions are (currently) lifted, boarding commercial flights, etc., bound for Canada don't require proof of citizenship or PR status to board. This could change again if there is another covid spike and travel restrictions are reapplied, so if you're flying back in within the next little while you might be required to have your PR card to board a commercial flight.
