Hi Friends,

I landed on Aug 8 through Windsor Tunnel and then headed back straight to US. I had given the address of a friend in Vancouver as my address.

The customs officer mentioned that I can take a commercial transport into Canada only after I receive the PR card, but can enter from US driving in a private car any time I feel like. His statement implied that my PR card would arrive at my friend's house.

Now the problem is: The PR cards have not yet arrived.

Rqust you to help me that what should be my next steps?

Rgds,

Do they really allow you to drive into Canada without a PR card if you are in a private car?? Or this is just on paper?

Really ? How about driving from Canada to US and back ? I need to visit Visa Office in US (Seattle) but I'm not US or Canada citizen ... sign !

The last time I crossed the boarder in windsor, they asked for my PR card even though I was in a US private car (not Canadian car).

You need a visa to go into the US even if you are in a private car.

Hey guys,

any answer for my question...

how should I contact them for the PR card?

You can always call CIC @ 1-888-242‑2100 (if you are in Canada) or 1-613-944-4000 (if you are outside Canada) for the PR Card

Dear Steaky,

If I am outside of Canada and call to inquiry about the the PR card, should I tell them that I am outside and the reasons why I am outside now? Will they continue to send the cards to my registered address if I am outside now.

Thank you so much

Probably No. They'd hold processing it further, 'coz it's a regulation that the PR is required to be "in Canada" for obtaining his/her PRC.

You Can Not entered into Canada without having PR card with you. If you called the CIC from outside Canada than your PR card will be stucked and you will be instructed to collect it by your own. Only the very first PR card sent in the mail.

If you are outside of Canada and needs to enter, you need to obtained a travel document from the local Canadian consulate, and issuance of travel document not a guarantee.......
