Hi all.

Myself and my partner sent our applications for a PR renewal at the end of May 2021. We have since heard nothing - no email/call, etc.

Is anyone else out there in the same boat? I can't call or email them either - tried and they do not answer/respond. :(
I am too waiting for PR card of my son. Application delivered on 18 May. No AOR received. Submitted web form, but no information.

I completed my landing on Sep 18. I am unable to link application online for the PR card. Also, I raised webform several times. No updates yet. Is anyone else having similar scenario?

Update for my PR Renewal:
Application submitted: July 30th
Application received: August 5th
AOR Received: November 2nd
Processing: November 2nd
The status is now marked as Decision Made.

They received my documents for PR card renewal August 13 through Canada Post but haven't heard anything from them on receiving it. I see some others are in the same boat?
I have my sisters wedding in the uk in mid December but it doesn't look like there is much chance my card will come by then if they have not opened the application?

Is there any way of re entering Canada at the US border without a valid PR Card?
I don't think think the PRTD document will work because you have to apply when out of the country and can take up to 2 months to arrive.

I am waiting for my first PR card.
Submitted Apr 30 2021.
Picture received June 05 20201
No updates whatsoever even till today.
I am planning to fly home for Christmas for 3 weeks but will I need to apply for PRTD? if so would I have enough time to get PRTD before I am flying back to Canada??

I have the same question. The processing times says "varied". I read somewhere it can be between 2 and 8 weeks but not on the CIC website.

Here is my complete PR card renewal timeline:
Application mailed in on July 7, 2021

ECAS updates:
1. We received your application for a permanent resident card on July 12, 2021.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on October 21, 2021.
3. We started processing your application on October 21, 2021. (ECAS status 'DECISION MADE' on October 22, 2021)
4. Your Permanent Resident card was sent by mail on October 27, 2021. (ECAS status 'COMPLETED')

So, I guess I'll receive my card sometime next week. Will update once received.
Update to above timeline. PR Card arrived in the mail today November 3, 2021.

If you can get to a land crossing, you can cross in a "private vehicle" with the proper paperwork (or you used to be able to. I'd check with an attorney as well.) When I did it ~5 years ago, I had my entire application copies, my original landing paper. (IMwhateveritis - the long brown and white thing) and anything else I felt might help establish my residency. They glanced at my paperwork for 2 seconds and I rolled through. The times being what they are I should note I'm a yt male and was in a rental car - did a Buffalo to Pearson drop off - but rental car compaies aren't doing that anymore cuz Covid. You could get someone to come get you, or probably do an uber/lyft kind of thing. Or go round trip to get your card and bring the car back. It's a pain, but it can be done

I had checked in with an attorney before I left Canada to be sure it was cool, they assured me it was. I am going to check with them again to see if anything has changed. Basically, unless they want to try to pull your Resident status (which is a process that take some time) they had to let you in (they had to let you in even if they wanted to pull it, and you could appeal/fight it, but it might affect getting your card, I guess.) So, basically if you can get in the states with no hassle, and your application is otherwise legit, you used to be able to cross in private vehicle. I assume, but have not verified, this is still correct.

Hope this helps.

Hello,
I am in Canada with expired PR card. I will be travelling to India on 19th November and I have booked my flight back for the 9th December. I want to apply for the PRTD. Will I have enough time to apply for the document while in India or can I start the process a bit earlier? I meet all the requirements to apply its just I want to know if the duration will be enough. I have to travel back on this date because of work

TIA

mine apply 10may DM 14sep.2021 pr renewal after that until to today didt receive my pr i am stuCK to DM sinece to sep2021
Same here, application received May 14, stuck on DM since sep 9 with no updates. This is getting ridiculous now!!! I am losing hope and patience….this is too much now. I was told everything on my application was good then why it’s taking them more time than normal, people with Jun/jul application got their PR card, and May application are still waiting! I have been waiting to travel but can’t because of the delay in government PR processing. I wish we can give a mass complaint against the IRCC incompetence.

I have no idea unfortunately. According to the Operational Manual established by the IRCC - the printing Is done at somewhere called Card Production Facility. I can only imagine they have a lot of cards to be produced and it's taking time. I think you should be able to receive your cards right on time.

@BadGamer6 Like you said, I just see my cic account reflects approval status corresponds to my PR card application :)

I am still waiting for my spouse PR Card approval so that we can travel as planned on December 10 , 2021 :)

Our PR card application numbers are XXXX955 and XXX959 and both of our cards gone to Production on October 16, 2021. Do you have any idea why the other card is still in production?

Thank you :)

This forum helped me to think differently and process An urgent request. I sent My initial application in the first week of August, and I was waiting for the AOR like many others in the forum. I have to travel in February next year, and there could be chances that I may not get the new cards even then, based on what j see from the posts here. So, I processed an urgent application with an employer's letter mentioning how important it is for my employer to have me back here on time as planned if I go out of Canada. In the support g letter, I explained the chances of delay in getting PRTD due to pandemic.
The new urgent application was delivered toNova Scotia on 20th Oct, I got AOR on 22nd Oct and received my new card by post On 2nd November.
Hello,
Thanks for your post . I am in a similar situation and need to travel in December and be back to work asap and cannot afford to wait for a PRTD. Please could you let me know if you provided a reason for your travel?

My and my spouse timelines are as below for PR card renewal
  1. We received your application for a permanent resident card on July 2, 2021.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on October 21, 2021.
  3. We started processing your application on October 21, 2021.
For me the process was completed on October 29, 2021 and received my PR card today. But for my spouse the status is still DM. Wondering what the method of their working. We want to fly in February and not sure when the process is going to complete for my partner.

You got Any issues in terms of RO obligation??
Hello
My case is bit different. I did my legal nam change and my current resident card doesn’t expire for another 1.5 year, but since my primary document(passport) has new legal name and my card has former name, so i had to send an application to update the card. This is also considered as renewal application. Also i have stayed 3 months out of country in past 3 three so I automatically meet residency obligation.
i wanted to travel home coming January for marriage but can’t set dates since I don’t have updated card. I know i can apply prtd but I don’t wish to walk that way.
I am thinking to approach a local mp in next 15 days if there’s no update. Does anyone has any idea how long does it take to obtain prtd?
