I received an email today “application received on april 25th 2021”
* Is there a way i can check my application status now?
* Can someone tell me how long it will take to receive my AOCR?
* Is the process faster after this email?

how long the maximum and average time between starting processing till decision made?
Normal application - or routine application. From AOR to DM is instant, basically the next day you would see DM. Maximum can take months if not years if they have serious concerns about your entry/exit dates.

Hi, I hold a COPR (expiring on Dec 2nd 2021). I am planning my travel around end of October. However, i need to return to India as I have some unfinished affairs here. I understand the new PR card will take close to 128 days to get. Can I travel before receiving my PR card? If so, how can I travel back without PR card?
Your COPR can never expire as this is confirmation of you being a PR of Canada. the PR card allows you to enter Canada if you travel. Otherwise you will require a PR travel document (PRTD) which can only be obtained from the country you are travelling from to Canada and at this time there is no guarantee on the timeline for receiving the PR card and no guarantee that you will get the PRTD from the country you are leaving from (assuming this is India) as the Embassy may be restricted services. I understand that if you have a US visa, you can drive across the land border as a PR providing it is not a cmmercial vehicle like a bus etc.- maybe a rental car and there may be many questions asked by border control. I got my COPR in July and am waiting to travel after I receive the PR card (I am CEC inland). @legalfalcon please correct me where I may be wrong in my answer

Hey guys!

It's been a VERY long time since I was last on these forums. Just thought I'd share my PR card renewal timeline. I was a bit worried, and this thread helped me get a feel for what I could expect. So here it goes:

Application received at Sydney, Nova Scotia by UPS: April 14, 2021
AOR
received by email: August 11, 2021 (Status: In Process)
Decision Made: September 8, 2021
Complete
: September 10, 2021 (It says they have sent out the card by mail)

I was a bit worried because I had big absences, but was within my RO requirements (I had an ~ 40 day buffer). After getting my PR in Feb of 2016, I went back to the US and spent 996 days there, before returning to Canada on Dec. 31, 2018.

After that, during my subsequent 2 years, I also went back to the US several times, once staying for over 30 days and another time for around 20 days. But in the end, it appears to have gone well. So, it should give some hope to those who are in a similar situation to mine!

Just wanted to post an update to my timeline:

Card received in Montreal September 15th.

The only thing I would like to mention - in my application I put my mailing address different from home address, but they still mailed it to my home address. Thankfully I have not changed apartments yet... So, if you are moving or so - try to get in touch with them and talk to an agent in CIC to ensure they got it correctly.

Good luck everyone!

My application got delivered on Sep 13th as per Canada Post. The long wait starts - hoping processing times stay in the 4-5 months range if not improve.

Any outland applicant\dependent who landed recently?

I am the primary applicant (CEC inland. I received my PR card within 15 days after the COPR). My wife will be completing her landing process in November (If the travel permits). How long of a wait should I expect for her PR card?
