Hi Everyone,

My wife landed on November 10th, 2013 at Vancouver boarder office. But until now, we still have not received her PR card yet. The website shows the processing time would be 48 calendar days, but it has been more than two months already... We are travelling abroad in the mid of next month for three weeks. And worrying about if we do not get the card by then, how could my wife return to Canada? Even the processing time for the PR travel document is 4 weeks... My wife does have her 10 year visitor visa, but I guess it got revoked automatically once she landed as a PR, right??

Please help, thank you all in advance

Can someone please help?? There is still no status about the PR card showing on CIC website after two months. Does it mean CIC has not received my case yet? Would it be lost from the boarder office to CIC? Is it possible that no status on the website but still got the card?

If your wife holds a visa exempt passport, she can re-enter Canada using her passport alone. If your wife holds a non-visa exempt passport, then she will need either a valid PR card or Travel Document to return. Her 10 year visitor visa is no longer valid since she has landed and become a PR. Once final option would be to return via the US (she might need a US visitor visa) and then re-enter Canada by private car using her CORP.

Did u call CIC Call Centre 1-888-242-2100 and speak to an agent to inquire?

Or make an inquiry through your local MP......

As a first step, check to see if there is anything on ECAS about the PR card. Hopefully you will see something like: application received (same date as landing), date in process, and "complete".

No! it only shows the PR application completed, nothing about the card... Does this mean they have not even started my case??

Someone in forum received his PR Card after 55 days of landing in Canada.
;D

It has been almost 70days for my wife's...

We landed just today and they told is it will be 60-90 days minimum.

So I just called CIC. The lady said it is still in process, but since it has already been exceeded the processing time, she will send a reminder and speed up the process. According to her, we should be getting the card by the end of this month... She also said that it is completely normal for not having any status on ECAS after two months. And if still no card received by then, call CIC back again...WTF...

But anyway, seems that the landing information went through, was not lost... Now just hope we will get the card before we travel. Thank you guys for helping me here. Really appreciated.

So after waiting for another two weeks, I still did not receive my card. Just called CIC again, they said that my card is in verification process since last time I called. And because it is the first card, so there is no time frame and cannot speed it up. So basically I will have to wait and there is no timeline whatsoever... WTF cic! It has been almost 3 months since I landed. And there is even no status on ECAS for the card. So frustrated....

Just a question here ..... the PR card is only really required for boarding a commercial carrier right? I mean she can show her visitors visa, board the plane, and once at the immigration counter in Canada, she can declare that she is a PR and has not yet received her PR card, and show her COPR.

Wouldnt that work?

No, because when you land as a PR any and all visitor or other visas are removed and/or voided on the spot.
