I don't know how else to answer your question. It doesn't matter if you land by road, air or boat - there are no PR card forms for you to complete. The cards will be automatically generated after you land.

ya i got ur point if nothing to fill out then while crossing border by ROAD how will get PR CARD?
Dude, you need to stop spamming all over the forum with your questions.

Point #1 - There is no form to apply for a brand new PR Card. There are only forms to replace or renew expired PR cards. When you first enter Canada as a PR. and I mean FIRST entry, they will take all your information and send you the PR card to the address you give them. It can be Canadian address only. So while entering for the first time, there are no forms required to be filled. just take your papssports, copr and proof of funds,.

Point #2 - You may be able to re-enter Canada from the US by using your landing paper and your valid passport. Hower I again re-iterate it as MAY. please double check with CIC or other members to see if thats valid. what I know is that you cannot enter using a commercial vehicle if you do not have your PR card. Commercial vehicle cannot be used by land, air, or sea. that means you cannot travel by Bus, Train, Ship, Plane and may be even rental cars. Rental cars are often considered as commercial vehicles. Again its a grey area so double check. You can always use your personal vehicle. It doesn't matter where the loan is as long as its yours.

Point #3 - You can rent cars in US and return in Canada and vice-versa. But that is considered an international drop off. So the rental companies may charge you tonnes of money and they charge you by the mile/km. So double check before you do that. the rental car may end up costing 500 or more. Again, if you don't have your PR card, double check before you use rental car as an option to enter canada.

Point #4 - You getting back to US has nothing to do with Canada. Canada will not care if you leave and how you leave. what will matter is that US wuill ask you to the visa to enter. so getting back to US is a seperate issue and needs to be checked with US CBP officials. Canada won't have any input.

Hope that helps.

Dear Scylla,

Upon first landing, do they ask for photo for the PR card?
