Officer gave you wrong info. Current processing times are 18 week and that doesn't include mailing times.

Is there a way we could check status of first time PR card?
I have linked the PR card application with CIC GC account but it just shows submitted.
I would like to know when it is dispatched so that I could let me friend know to look out for it in his mail.
Also, I gave my friend's address to the border officer, can I now change this address to a Service Canada office or a UPS mail box?
I believe the linking you've done is the right way to check status. But wait for someone else to confirm.
Yes, you can change the mailing address. You certainly cannot change the mailing address to a Service Canada office. These are government offices and they won't accept your personal mail. I don't know if a UPS mail box can be used.

I'm waiting for my PR card since September as my wife got her card but I couldn't get any information why my card is delaying.
It's in Etobicoke office and I don't how to get hold of them there is response for calls and emails but I do need to travel back home and afraid to send passport as I red reviews that they haven't received their passports back.
So can anyone help me what I should do ??

What other documents we can provide before leaving and to re-enter.
I don't get it why they are taking that long as everyone is getting their PR cards after 2 weeks except the one are getting processed through Etobicoke office ?
