Hi,

Does PR card expiry date related to RO?
For example, if someone's PR expiry date is Jan-2021. But, he entered Canada on Jan-2020 and stayed up to jan-2022.

Will he face any issue during PR renew if he meets the 730 days stays obligation?

Thanks,

PR card expiry date is not relevant at all to the residency obligation.

If can show minimum 730 days in 5 years before applying to renew a PR card will be fine. Generally recommended though to have a couple months over 730 days to minimise chances of further inspection .

Note though if entering 1/2020 and have not met the RO then of course chances of being reported leading to PR being revoked is a possibility regardless whether card does not expire until 2021.

You landed in February 2017 so that is the date that is really important. You must live in Canada for 2 out of 5 years from that date. You will not be able to sponsor a spouse if you are no compliant with your RO since it sounds like you may have gotten married since then.

I submitted my pr card replacement application on February 20th and still haven't received the card yet.The processing time was 2 months but it's April 22nd and I haven't received the pr card.I have to travel to India as I'm the primary caretaker for a family member and planning on booking the flight within next 2 weeks. How long is my application going to take?should I book the flight already for urgent processing?
